Yes! you can come aboard

At Hispanic Family Foundation, we seek to improve and strengthen the lives of Nashville’s Hispanic community, and we rely on the partnership and support of dedicated volunteers like you to make that possible!

A variety of full-time, part-time volunteer and internship opportunities are available at Hispanic Family Foundation for both English-speakers and Spanish-speakers. After completing an application, new volunteers are invited to attend an orientation session before signing up for specific opportunities. Here we present you a few ways you can volunteer and make a difference!

What to do to get involved:

  • View our opportunities and create a profile on Hands on Nashville (HON)
  • Wait to hear back from our volunteer coordinator
  • Begin intentional service!

Hands on Nashville’s fee-based community partner program is designed to serve the needs of organizations with year-round volunteer opportunities, or those needing to track attendance, email volunteers, and use other volunteer management features.

By applying through HON you can track your volunteer hours, have another sites to volunteer, be nominated as a volunteer of the year and get a volunteer certificate. Please apply to be a volunteer with HFF using the keyword: Hispanic Family

FAQ

We have programs that require Spanish and others that do not. Please read through program descriptions for details, and note your proficiency on your application.
Volunteers at Hispanic Family Foundation help with everything from volunteering with childcare to staffing special events and programs.
Please note your interest in having your group volunteer on your application. You should be aware that opportunities in which groups can volunteer are limited and require advance notice for planning.
We have programs that require knowledge of technical Spanish (Client intake), and others that only require simple conversational Spanish (daycare of preschoolers/toddlers).
Families can volunteer with certain programs, but most of our volunteer opportunities are for individuals. We allow teenagers to volunteer with our childcare opportunity, and as event assistants.
It depends on the program. Please read the description of each opportunity to get more information on the unique requirements.
We encourage volunteers to join us on an ongoing basis and become part of our familia.
If you have additional requirements beyond traditional volunteering (interviewing staff, doing observations), please note that on your application and discuss it with the volunteer coordinator for the program. You should know that our volunteer opportunities change over time, and we may not have an opportunity that fits your deadline, so request an opportunity as soon as you are able.
We have a different process for intern opportunities. Please contact Fabian Bedne if you would like information on interning at Hispanic Family Foundation. He can be reached at fabian.bedne@hispanicfamilyfoundation.com.
Every volunteer must register through the Hands-on-Nashville database by creating a profile before volunteering at Hispanic Family Foundation. We ask that all new volunteers attend the orientation to fully understand our programs and our volunteer requirements.
Yes. Volunteers will be asked to help set up and staff our table at different events in Nashville. We cannot guarantee that we can meet the needs of your court order, and we encourage community service volunteers to register and request time with ample notice to our staff.
